Betek Boya

Due to the layoff of 88 workers at the Betek Boya factory in Gebze Organized Industrial Zone in Kocaeli for being unionized, about 900 workers started a wildcat strike by locking themselves in the factory on December 25, 2024. The fired workers also started resistance in front of the factory. After the workers at Betek Boya became members of the Petrol-İş Union and won the majority, but the boss objected to the union's authorization, the workers were protesting at the entrance and exit of their shifts demanding the recognition of the union's authorization and the start of collective labor negotiations.
Following the strike, negotiations began between the union and the company management, and the strike was ended at night after the union announced that the demands were accepted and that the boss would sit at the collective bargaining table with the union.
